The purpose of this contest is to promote the craft of playwrighting.  The contest and award was created in 1973 to celebrate our 25^th Anniversary Season and to honor the memory of Virginia M. Hefler, a patroness and member of the Annapolis art community. The winning play will receive a weekend workshop and public reading in Annapolis, MD in the calendar year of the award.

Colonial Players is pleased to announce the opening of their 2008-2009 Promising Playwright Contest.
